Forerunners of the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Four figures in the Book of Revelation who symbolize the evils to come at the end of the world:

The figure representing conquest rides a white horse;

war, a red horse;

famine, a black horse; and

plague, a pale horse. They are often called the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
To me, the horsemen have forerunners and their names are:

gullibility,
-
stupidity,
-
ignorance and
-
greed.
When I look at the world of conspiracy theorists, I hear many complicated scenarios being offered to explain current circumstances. For example,
the "New World Order":
"The New World Order theory states that a group of international elites controls governments, industry, and media organizations, with the goal of establishing global hegemony. They are alleged to be implicated in most of the major wars of the last two centuries, to carry out secretly staged events, and to deliberately manipulate economies. The Discordian hoax has resulted in one of the world's foremost conspiracy theories, which claims that the "Illuminati" are secretly promoting the posited New World Order. Such theories attempt to explain many of the events of the world which are occurring and have occurred in the past, including 9/11 and lately COVID-19.
To me, they are complicated theories about events for which there are much simpler explanations than mysterious conspirators aiming to rule the world and enslave us all. If such a group exists, then it's ultimate fate is the same as for the rest of us. What advantage would anyone have in killing off large swathes of the population? They would be destroying that which provides them with everything. That doesn't make any sense.
No, there is a much simpler explanation and simple beats complicated every time. It's the forerunners of the four horsemen which lead to current events and that's always been the case. Gullibility, stupidity, ignorance and greed explains all the events. And I have no doubt that these four will continue to rule the world and are behind conquest, war, famine and plagues. Nothing is new.
My advice to those looking for conspiracies to explain events: look no further than gullibility, stupidity, ignorance and greed. Stop looking for others to blame and look at yourself and ask: which of the four forerunners is running my life?
